Lake Las Vegas Resident Dian Hodge Focuses on Community

SouthShore Country Club resident Dian Hodge is no stranger to helping others. Since moving to Lake Las Vegas with her husband Jerry in 2000, she has spent time helping neighbors in her community with their interior design needs.

“Color analysis has always been a part of my life,” said Hodge. “I have been in the cosmetic and modeling industry since a very young age so I know color.”

Her flair for design not only includes interiors. Hodge was the previous owner of Fortay International Inc., a company that created and produced fragrances for some of the largest hotels in the world, including several on the Las Vegas Strip. According to Hodge, Fortay International Inc., was tapped to create the skin care and body care lines for the Luxor Hotel & Casino.

A highlight of her career came when her signature fragrance, DIAN was featured on QVC and sold 650 bottles in six minutes.

Hodge’s resourceful mindset has helped others outside the Lake Las Vegas community. She is a board member of S.A.F.E. House and chairman of its annual fundraiser Bubbles by the Beach. S.A.F.E. House is a nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive approach to end domestic violence and abuse in the family through safe shelter, counseling, advocacy and community education.

She also resides as board president for The Giving Store, a boutique run by S.A.F.E. House located inside the Walmart shopping center at 274 E. Lake Mead Parkway. The store accepts clothing, household items and toys and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds from the store go to S.A.F.E. House.

According to Hodge, S.A.F.E. House is hosting its annual fundraiser on May 18 at Reflection Bay Golf Club, the award-winning golf club designed by 18-time Major winner Jack Nicklausand set on the 325-acre lake at Lake Las Vegas. The event will feature the culinary talents of Lake Las Vegas’ Executive Chef Scott Commings, season 12 winner of Gordon Ramsay’s “Hell’s Kitchen.”

When Hodge is not working in the community, she spends five mornings a week at the Lake Las Vegas Sports Club taking D-Fuzion dance and Zumba classes. Once a month she hosts the Ciao Bella luncheon at the Sports Club for the ladies who reside in Lake Las Vegas along with new residents and prospective homeowners.
