Lake Las Vegas Celebrates the Holiday Season

Oh, there’s no place like the Lake for the holidays! The Lake Las Vegas community celebrated the most wonderful time of the year with a month-long line up of festivities, including the Annual Golf Cart Parade, Ugly Sweater Contest, and more.

Guests were making spirits bright at the inaugural Raise a Glass cocktail tasting event at Seasons Deli & Grocery and Shoreline by Blue Heron. While enjoying a taste of the holidays, guests also had the opportunity to preview one of Lake Las Vegas’ newest luxury home collections. Glasses were not the only thing being raised at this event! All proceeds of the tasting benefited the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, a local nonprofit working to provide for those in need of food, shelter, as well as those in need of addiction recovery.

Following cocktail hour, the annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade rolled into the scene! Holiday spirit was not in short supply as Lake Las Vegas residents and community partners showcased their decorated carts throughout the Village. While normally found on a typical neighborhood lawn, inflatable Grinches, Santas, and snow Yetis made appearances atop of carts. Other vehicles took shape as life-size gingerbread and Snoopy-inspired houses, with a traveling Christmas tree lot and colorful lights galore to light up the Lake-side streets.

While guests the festive sights at the parade, they were also treated to a free musical performance by America’s Got Talent contestant Kendra Daniels. Onlookers cozied up with a cup of complimentary hot chocolate provided by The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Guests also had the chance to go home as content winners with fun prizes and giveaways.

‘Twas the season to rock your best ugly Christmas sweater! Lake Las Vegas celebrated our annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest, hosted at the Reflection Bay Golf Club. Guests showed off their ugliest Christmas sweaters in the hopes of winning a line-up of festive prizes. The event’s entertainment featured a live choir who treated guests to renditions of holiday favorites such as “Let It Snow,” “One Horse Open Sleigh,” and “O Holy Night.” The fun did not stop there! Guests took to the dance floor accompanied by a live DJ. The night also brought exciting giveaways and an array of holiday drinks and appetizers.

Judged by a line-up including the newly crowned 2023 Mrs. Nevada and Lake Las Vegas resident Ashley Tesoro, contenders took center stage to show off their ugliest sweater and best dance moves to go along with it! These were not your average ugly Christmas sweaters. Colorful lights, tinsel and other creative accessories made it a show worth remembering. With the crowd cheering on their favorite sweaters of the night, an island-ready Santa and his Christmas tree sidekick took home the big win. Not only did the night provide a fun-filled night for the family, the event also highlighted the support of a good cause. Guests were encouraged to bring new and gently used sweaters to be donated to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. As the excitement inside came to an end, the night continued with marshmallow roasting by a lakeside fire.

3… 2… 1… Happy New Year from Lake Las Vegas! The Lake Las Vegas community wrapped up the holiday season with its annual New Year’s Eve fireworks display. Onlookers bid adieu to 2022 with an East Coast countdown for the show at 9 p.m. At no charge, the firework spectacle lit up the sky over the 320-acre lake. Residents had the option to watch the show from their preferred viewing spot throughout the community.
